The Leave No Trace Initiative is an educational, nonprofit organization dedicated to the responsible enjoyment and active stewardship of the outdoors by all people, worldwide. It builds appreciation and respect for the outdoors using an international program.
The program:
- Educates people with a diverse collection of skills so that they can enjoy the outdoors responsibly and without impacting on their natural environment;
- Connects people to the outdoor places they love so they appreciate how their actions can make positive change;
- Protects ecosystems by mobilizing outdoor stewards with a lifetime commitment to preserving the land.
The Leave No Trace program is centered around seven scientifically based principles including:
- Plan Ahead and Prepare
- Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces
- Dispose of Waste Properly
- Leave What You Find
- Minimize Campfire Impacts
- Respect Wildlife
- Be Considerate of Other Visitors
Island Adventures fully supports the Leave No Trace Initiative, and we endeavor to protect and preserve all the natural environments we use in Guernsey. No waste will be left at our adventure sites, and respect will be provided to both the immediate and surrounding habitats.
